Heavily inspired by the history of Korean Shamanism and exploring themes of queer ancestry, I designed, pattern drafted, and constructed this queer interpretation of a traditional Korean Hanbok.  I wanted to create a visual that was heartbreakingly beautiful and deeply sad. In a journey where one seeks connection with spirits and ancestors who may or may not even want us, I explored different textures and layers upon layers of sheer silk organzas and cotton organdy to convey a sense of feeling that was ephemeral and fleeting---just out of reach.
